What Content?
There are hundreds of millions of people using the Internet. No matter
how exotic your knowledge, there are going to be hundreds or thousands
of those people interested in what you know.
How do I Start?
Use a spreadsheet program to map out
your ideas. Just type them in.
The advantage of a spreadsheet is that you can rearrange ideas, simply
by moving cells around.
Next, type your text into Word Pad or a similar program. Word Pad comes
free with every copy of Microsoft's TMWindows
program. Find it by looking in My Programs ... Accessories.
If you use a word processing program your document will be saved with
all kinds of fancy formatting that makes it look strange when you copy
and paste it into a web page.
You can use a word processor but save files as .txt files.
How do I make it interesting?
Use short sentences.
Use paragraphs.
Use sub-headings wherever possible.
Use a two column format.
All of these make it easier to read your content quickly and to extract
meaning from it. More on these on our HTML
Compiler section.

BUT...
It really IS that easy.
- Jot
down your ideas in a spreadsheet. Rearrange them by moving cells in the
spreadsheet around.
- Expand
your material using a text editing program like the free WordPad
program that comes with Microsoft'sTM Windows.
- Copy
and Paste your material into a free HTML
editing program.
For
Example
This
website was built using this same process.
- I
have built a lot of sites and know how to do it, that is my Content.
- I
am a trained teacher, so I know how to break down difficult concepts
into simple ones, those are the page titles.
- I
jotted the steps down on paper, then put them into a spreadsheet and
arrranged them in a logical order.
- I
used a domain name that I already owned, but where the website was not
earning me very much.
- I
used the colors and design of the site's previous incarnation
- I
Built the site
- End
